The company FNTASTIC LLP, previously known as Fantastic, Filed a lawsuit to the Arbitration Court of Yakutia against the editorial “Yakutia.info”. The reason for the trial was two articles published by the publication, which, according to the plaintiff, were damaged by the business reputation of the company.
The lawsuit states that the materials contain information affecting the reputation of the “fontastic”. In particular, we are talking about publications dedicated to the failure of a multi -user shooter with the survival elements The Day Before. The game caused a wide public outcry, becoming an object of criticism from players and specialized publications around the world.
“Fontastic” was founded by the Gotsev brothers in Yakutsk and enjoyed the support of local authorities and an IT park, but in recent years was relocated to Kazakhstan. In preparation for the trial, the company ordered a linguistic study. Two expressions in the materials of Yakutia.info were regarded as damaging a business reputation, namely: the statement of “borrowing a mechanic from other games” and the use of the word “scam” in the description of the company’s activities.
The editors of the portal reacted to the claims, replacing the term “scam” with “embarrassment”, and a statement about borrowing a mechanic – a quote from the video blog IXBT Games. However, these changes did not satisfy the representatives of the “ftantastik”. The company proposed resolving the conflict in pre -trial subject, provided that the publications are removed and the apologies are brought. Journalists found such requirements for freedom of speech and refused to fulfill them, as a result of which the dispute moved to the judicial plane.
It is noteworthy that the criticism of Fantastic was distributed not only from Yakutia.info, but also from large specialized publications and bloggers. However, the lawsuit was filed against the Yakut media. The trial between the parties continues, and we can only observe the development of events.
