Mixed Realms studio presented another report on the development of the roguelike action game 13Z and shared the latest news about the game. After the successful launch of the playtest, the developers received a lot of feedback and are working on improving game elements. According to them, several aspects of the game still require improvement. Here are the main areas we are working on:

  • Level Design: The team is revising the layout and size of rooms to make the game more dynamic and comfortable.
  • Reward Balance: Coins will now be awarded upon completion of a room, rather than being hidden in random vases and pots. Breakable items will remain – they will contain bonuses to health.
  • More sophisticated attacks and progression: the developers promise to introduce new variations of attacks, details of which will appear in the next devlog.
  • Telegraphed Attacks: Improved visuals will help players better navigate combat and avoid being hit from behind.
  • Graphical improvements: The team is working on unique shaders and water physics to make the environments even more atmospheric, especially in the first act with waterfalls and the Gold Croak level.
  • Quality of Life (QoL) improvements: Camera lock feature and smoother aiming are coming soon.

In addition, the developers confirmed that the cooperative playtest will take place in the first quarter of 2025. However, an interim update for the single-player mode will also be released soon, including new visual effects and an improved appearance for Lyra’s character.
