The development of Icarus – from early concepts to the “lumberjack simulator”

Dean Hall and his team RocketWerkz presented the first episode of The Making of Icarus series, which follows the process of creating the Icarus survival simulator. The video is in English, but provides a glimpse into the development of the project, from the early concept art stage to a milestone in November 2019, which the developers themselves call the Woodcutting Simulator.

In the first issue, you can see the concept art of the space station and the various biomes that players will visit. In addition, the developers showed in detail what happens to the trees in the game when they are cut down.

Icarus will be released in three parts: First Cohort, New Frontier and Dangerous Horizon. The first release will take place in 2021 on PC.
