How quickly can human society within one city or country respond to the threat of terrorism? But what if it’s not an ordinary bomb planted, let’s say, in a school or a shopping mall? What if it’s bio-terror? The American government tested this issue in practice by launching a project called “Dark Winter”. The results were not long in coming. And do not keep yourself waiting, because there are many exciting hours waiting for you that you can spend in a game called The Division. This is a multiplayer shooter that will remind you what real survival in life-threatening conditions should look like when a biological disaster reigns outside. So, we hope you’re ready and willing to dive into what promises to be a very addictive game! But first, let’s take a closer look at it.

Plot

How did it happen? Remember school fake evacuations, when a signal was transmitted on the school radio, announcing an imaginary threat, and everyone had to concentrate and quickly leave the building. A group of scientists, along with politicians, decided to do something similar in 2012 in America, but on a much larger scale. Their goal was to test how ready the population is for a biological terrorist attack. They called their project “Dark Winter”, as if foreshadowing what the population expects in case of failure. The starting day has been chosen. This day turned out to be Black Friday, when people massively flood stores and supermarkets to stock up for a long time. It couldn’t have been a better day. And, of course, the experiment was a success, and unsuspecting people easily picked up an infection that is not so easy to deal with. What can I say – biological weapons are one of the most advanced. It is not visible to the naked eye, it is transmitted from person to person at a terrifying rate, and they do not even suspect that they are infected. As a result, the next day the hospitals were overcrowded. On the second day, quarantine was declared everywhere. The third day was marked by the collapse of the stock exchange. What happens on the fourth day? Electricity and water disappear, as do goods from the shelves. On the fifth day, not a single infected person remained. It seems that this was not an experiment, but a successful attempt to arrange a pandemic. But, to at least some happiness, there are people from the Division in society – these are specially trained people who know how to act in such situations. They take matters into their own hands and start the fight. Fighting those behind this ruthless and unstoppable virus while trying not to die yourself. Will they succeed? It depends on you and on all other players.

Game process

Players enter an open world set in America, mostly Manhattan. You find yourself in the midst of a crisis, when the chances of survival are small, and therefore you have to be especially strong and resilient. You, though, will have a chance to enjoy the beauty of a dying world, that is, the chaos that arose due to the virus. The graphics in the game are very good, and there are no quibbles to it. Since this is a multiplayer game, there will be quite a lot of people in the same location with you – other players. You can face them in battles or team up (maximum four players in one group). In addition, the game has a separate zone designed for PvP and advanced PvE. This zone is called the “Dark Zone”. It contains a large variety of useful items that players can find, after which they immediately need to send it to the base using the evacuation zones.
