The February patch for Monster Hunter Wilds will be the last, but a major expansion is in the works

Capcom has published a new video dedicated to the first anniversary of the release of the third-person action game Monster Hunter Wilds. In it, series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto presented details of the final content update, which will be released on February 18, 2026 and will launch a month-long holiday event that allows you to receive special item sets for logging in. The developers will also include a rotation of seasonal events from previous years, which will replace each other every week, and most temporary quests will be converted into permanent ones.

The final stage of support for the current version of the game is focused on challenges of increased difficulty. The list of tasks will include quests of the 10th star level with the participation of the hardened king Arcibert, as well as a chain of continuous hunting for several hardened monsters in a row. For successfully completing these missions, players will be able to receive rare high-rank amulets. In addition, the winning content from the design competition will be added to the game, including a unique weapon keychain and a special quest to obtain it, and the names of the sixteen finalists of the competition will be forever immortalized in the game’s credits.

Ahead of the March 13, 2026 release of Monster Hunter Stories 3, a co-op event is launching in Monster Hunter Wilds. Players will be able to complete side missions involving felines and receive themed equipment for their partners. At the same time, Capcom plans to release another batch of fixes aimed at improving the stability and quality of the gameplay, based on community feedback collected over the past year.

Despite the status of the final update for the basic version, the development of the Monster Hunter Wilds universe does not stop. At the end of the address, Ryozo Tsujimoto officially confirmed that the studio is already actively developing a large-scale paid add-on, comparable in scope to Iceborne for Monster Hunter: World or Sunbreak for Monster Hunter Rise. The first official details about the future expansion will be revealed in the summer of 2026, but in the meantime, the developers invite fans to attend the Monster Hunter Festa ’26, which will take place on February 22 at the Makuhari Exhibition Center.
