Since the start of early access for Path of Exile 2, developers from Grinding Gear Games have been focused on quickly fixing technical problems and game bugs. However, four days later, the authors announced the first changes to the game, based on player feedback. Some changes have already been implemented, and some will appear in the game “soon.” Briefly about the main changes:
- Roll changes. Many players complained that they were being squeezed by monsters and it was impossible to get out of the environment, since somersaulting did not allow them to pass through the monsters. However, soon it will be possible to squeeze into any gap between them, since the character’s size during a somersault will be zero.
- Checkpoint changes. The location maps are very large, and in some cases it is quite tedious to return through them to a specific NPC or point of interest. Therefore, the developers will add teleportation points to all entrances and exits to the location and will allow teleportation to all explored control points.
- Item Changes. Players are complaining about problems with receiving equipment, and the developers have promised to study this issue carefully, since it will be very difficult to roll back the changes. Details will be announced later.
- Rare monsters. The rewards from rare monsters did not satisfy the developers and players. This is not noticeable during the story campaign, but during the endgame it becomes critical, since unique bosses are less common. Soon, rare monsters will have more properties, and for each of them the drop chance will be increased.
- Currencies. The chance of dropping in-game currencies will be increased. For example, the chance of receiving “Orbs of the Kings” is increased by 40%, and the “Orb of the Goldsmith” by 33%. “Chaos Orbs”, on the contrary, will drop out less frequently, since their value in the game is not so critical.
- Changes to card properties. Low item drop is one of the noticeable problems of the game. Therefore, it was decided to increase the chance of obtaining card properties and increase the bonus for each property.
- Protection against “unlucky” item drops. This problem was especially noticeable during story bosses, when players received unnecessary junk and some gold. Now, at least one rare item will always drop, and piles of gold will not exceed 50% of the total reward.
- Moving with a mouse click. At some points, when moving by holding down the mouse button, the character began to attack monsters, which led to unexpected situations. The situation has already been corrected.
- High level cards. In the upcoming update, rare monsters will appear on the minimap when there are 200 monsters left, instead of the current 50. Many maps will add additional rare monsters to ensure that the minimum number of monsters per map type is met.
