The developers demonstrated several minutes of gameplay, paying attention to both the visual component and the mechanics.

Unlike the original version for Nintendo 64, the reimagining will feature free camera rotation, the ability to jump at any time without being tied to special points, and accelerated running by pressing the “A” button.

The transition between individual locations will be accompanied by loading screens. The video featured a forest, a dungeon under a giant Deku tree, and a busy city.

In the settlement, players will be able to take a break from wandering, listen to the conversations of local residents and try their hand at mini-games.

IN The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will add a separate section of the task log, where a list of completed and current tasks will be displayed. A tapestry will also appear in the in-game menu, on which new fragments will gradually appear, retelling Link’s journey.

The remake’s musical mechanics deserve special attention. Players will be able to hum the melody directly into the Switch 2 microphone, after which the main character will repeat it on his ocarina. In addition, Nintendo announced a physical copy of the musical instrument, which will be available for purchase separately.

The broadcast also showed an updated combat system. The demonstration featured a battle with aggressive plants and shooting with a slingshot, which can be used not only in combat, but also when exploring the environment – for example, to activate mechanisms located out of reach.

Among other innovations of the remake, the following are announced:

  • full voice acting of characters in all cutscenes;

  • expanded dialogue compared to the original version;

  • orchestral soundtrack;

  • a complete day/night system.

Updated version The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will be released on Switch 2 on November 5th. Pre-orders are now open on eShop for $60.
