Riot Games has revealed the venue for the 2021 MOBA League of Legends World Championship. The tournament will take place in Reykjavik, Iceland, or more precisely, in the newly renovated Hall A of the indoor sports arena Laogudalshol. For safety reasons, there will be no spectators in the halls.
The championship itself starts on October 5 and ends with a large-scale final on November 6. A total of 22 teams from all over the world will take part.
The tournament will be held in those stages:
- preliminary – 10 teams: 2 groups of five teams.
- group – 16 teams: 4 teams from the preliminary stage and 12 new applicants
- play-off – 8 teams will fight in a series of up to three knockout victories – in the quarterfinals, semi-finals and the final.
In the final, the two remaining teams will play the last streak to three wins, which will determine the League of Legends World Champion in 2021.
