Mobile games bring in more money, and China leads among all countries.
During the announcement of Diablo: Immortal, a Blizzard spokesperson stated that gamers have smartphones. Then they laughed at her, but the facts for 2021 are on the side of the company – mobile games brought publishers about $ 93.2 billion, eclipsing the PC and console market at the same time. It turns out that even cinematic projects like Uncharted and Spider-Man do not collect the proper box office.
You can say that the market for PC and consoles will become larger, because many people are sitting at home because of the pandemic, so buying a gaming platform is a matter of time. Again, if you look at the graph, it turns out that over the past year, the mobile games market has grown by 7.3%, while others, on the contrary, have fallen. Consoles were hit the hardest at -6.6%.
Of course, it all depends on individual regions and even countries – most of the revenue from mobile games comes from Southeast Asia, or rather China ($30 billion versus $15 billion in the US). In terms of video games, Call of Duty Mobile, PUBG, and Genshin Impact earned the most.
