With just a few days left before the start of MMO Wayfinder Early Access, we have collected the most necessary information about this event.
Wayfinder is an MMO action game with non-target combat system developed on Unreal Engine 5. The game focuses on PvE adventures in solo and in a party of three. PvP is not a priority, but the developers have not yet given up on ideas to implement it in the future.
Wayfinder Early Access starts at 12pm CST on August 15th. The developers plan that the game will stay in early access for about 6 months, and during this time 2 seasons will pass. To access, you need to buy one of the founders’ packs. They will be available in Steam And PlayStation Store on launch day. There are 4 sets of founders in total. Each next set includes all the cosmetic elements from the previous one:
- base pack costs 649 rubles and includes 500 runic silver. Full access to the Season 1 Battle Pass and free access to the Season 2 Battle Pass.
- Initiate Pack costs 1619 rubles and contains 1000 “Rune Silver” and full access to the battle passes of the 1st and 2nd season. A token appears to unlock the hero and additional cosmetic items.
- Awakened Pack costs 2909 and gives players 2250 Rune Silver and premium access to Season 1 and Season 2 Battle Passes. 2 Hero Unlock Tokens, a pet, and a mount available at the end of 2023. In addition, the range of cosmetic items has been expanded.
- Exalted Pack will cost 4849 rubles and is a set for the most loyal audience. It contains 4200 Rune Silver, 3 character unlock tokens, Kyros hero skin, and a huge set of cosmetic items. Heroic Kyros will not be available in any other way than by purchasing the most expensive set.
All prices are valid for Steam, the PlayStation Store may differ. You can look at cosmetics and compare sets at official website. At release, the game will be free, and everyone will have access.
You can buy packs or purchase a more expensive pack before the end of Early Access, and items from the packs will be immediately issued to the player. But some may be temporarily blocked until the player reaches a certain progress in the game.
Wayfinder supports cross-play and cross-progress, but please note that during the first season, access on each platform is purchased separately. If you plan to play on Steam and PlasyStation, then you will need to purchase the Early Access Bundle on each platform separately. This also applies to the Runesilver premium currency: on which platform you bought it, on that one you can spend it.
Rune Silver is the currency for purchasing skins, weapons, costumes, trinkets, emotes, amulets, household items, and pets. After the purchase, the items will be available to you in the game, regardless of which platform you enter the game through. It is known that 100 “Rune Silver” will cost 1 dollar.
Despite the release of the game in early access, the developers assured that there will be no wipes, and all progress will be transferred to the release version of the game.
At the start, the game will offer 6 large locations, 6 heroes, 17 types of weapons, story quests, a variety of weapons, apartment rentals and a variety of decorative items. But, according to preliminary information, there will be no guilds and raids at the start. Also, there will be no major updates during the seasons, so don’t expect this content in the first season. The system of “awakening” heroes (increasing the basic characteristics of the hero) and archetypes will appear either in the second season or at the release of the game.
In Wayfinder, the developers have redesigned the classic battle pass system. Each season, a “reward tower” will appear in the game, in which you must complete tasks to receive a reward. In the case of purchasing access to the “tower”, it becomes available forever, and not just during a specific season. Even if you did not have time to complete all the tasks and receive all the rewards, you will always have the opportunity to do this later. According to the developers, all game content can be obtained in a game way.
At the moment, it is known that the game will be translated into 11 languages, but Russian is not among them. There are no restrictions for Russia at the moment, but the developers mentioned the observance of sanctions.
The minimum system requirements have not changed since the game tests:
- Operating system: Windows 10
- Processor: Ryzen 5 3600
- RAM: 16 GB RAM
- Video Card: Radeon RX 5600 XT or equivalent with 8GB VRAM
- HDD: at least 30 GB
The developers see early access as an opportunity to get feedback from the players on the basic elements of the game: the combat system, the progress of characters and weapons, movement and interaction with the game world. After finishing work on the basic mechanics, the developers will focus on expanding the content in the game: new locations, quests, heroes and weapons.
Soon, the developers plan to publish a “roadmap” for the development of the game, in which they will talk about their plans.
