Ever since the release of Throne and Liberty in South Korea, players have been asking one question – what are the rules and how is loot from monsters distributed in the open world, dungeons and events. And of course, most of all I was interested in the rules for obtaining loot from world bosses and archbosses. The publisher Amazon Games has prepared an article in which it tried to answer all the questions as much as possible.
Before you begin to understand the rules for calculating production, it is worth understanding two terms:
- “Contribution” is awarded for damage to the enemy and healing of friendly players in battle while the enemy is alive. The contribution for treatment is awarded both for players in your party and outside it. For example, your guildmates while killing world bosses.
- “Event Items” – These are items dropped during open world events that are necessary for event progression. For example, wolf tails in the Wolf Hunting Contest event.
Now let’s look at how rewards are distributed in different game activities.
Main activity
This category includes farming ordinary and elite monsters in the open world, open dungeons, quests, daily quests, events and cooperative dungeons, with the exception of the final reward chest.
- When a monster dies, the loot goes to the player who first dealt damage and contributed to that enemy.
- If a player is in a party, then the loot will go to his party, and all participants have an equal chance of getting it. The only exception is players who are not contributing and are away.
- All items are distributed evenly whenever possible. This means that if a party of 5 gets 10 items, each player must receive 2 items. If uniform distribution is not possible, the system will randomly select a player who will receive additional items.
- Sollants and experience are distributed evenly.
World bosses and archbosses in PvE mode
This also includes guild bosses.
- When a world PvE boss dies, all players are sorted by the player’s individual “contribution”.
- The overall guild “contribution” does not matter for peace mode bosses and guild raids.
- To receive a reward from the boss, players must make a minimum “contribution”.
- There are two types of drops received from peace mode bosses:
- Drop from deposit: Each item is distributed according to the chances depending on the individual contribution.
- Random drop: Each item is randomly given only to those players who have not received any of the contributions.
- One player can only receive one of these items. In other words, one player cannot obtain more than 1 epic piece of equipment from one boss.
- Sollants and experience are distributed evenly.
Let’s say that after defeating a world boss the following loot drops:
- Random items: 1x Sword, 1x Mask, 1000 Sollants
- Random drops: 1x Boots
If you have met the minimum “contribution” requirement described above, and if your contribution was 3% of the total contribution, you will have a 3% chance of receiving a Sword or Mask. All players who meet the minimum “contribution” requirement have an equal chance to receive Boots, regardless of the total contribution. A player who has received epic equipment cannot receive a second piece of epic equipment for the same boss kill.
World bosses and archbosses in PvP mode
Questions regarding the distribution of loot in this mode worried players most of all.
- Loot is distributed in two stages: first among guilds, and then among players.
- When the boss dies, the “guild contribution” is calculated – this is the sum of all individual “contributions” of each guild member participating in the battle.
- Guilds are then sorted by “contribution” rating.
- To receive loot, the guild must make a minimum contribution.
- Loot is distributed randomly according to the “guild contribution”.
- Unlike PvE mode, death at the hands of another player will reduce the individual “contribution” by 70%, which will reduce the contribution of the entire guild.
- Once a guild receives an item, all participating players in the guild have an equal chance of receiving it.
- Sollants and experience are distributed evenly.
Let’s say that after defeating a boss in PvP mode the following loot drops: 1x Sword, 1x Mask, 1000 Sollants. If players A, B and C each had 10%, 15% and 20% “contribution” respectively and all belonged to the same guild, then the total guild contribution would be 45%. This means that the guild would have a 45% chance of receiving the Sword and Mask. If the guild were to successfully acquire the Mask, then players A, B, and C would have an equal chance of obtaining the Mask.
