At the SXSW conference, the famous Hideo Kojima gameplay conducted a special presentation dedicated to Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, where he finally announced the release date of the game. The continuation of the 2019 hit will be released on June 26, 2025 Exclusively on the PlayStation 5. Players who placed a preliminary order on Collector’s Edition or Digital Deluxe Edition will gain early access and will be able to start playing on June 24. Pre -orders will open on March 17.
Note that in the future Death Stranding 2: On the Beach can also reach the PC, as happened with the first part. However, there is no accurate information on the date of release of the game on this platform yet.
Together with the announcement of the release date of Kodzim, the new ten -minute trailer Death Stranding 2: On the Beach showed. In the video, we can see cinematographic scenes, fragments of the gameplay and a new character named Neil, played by the Italian actor Luca Marinelli. Many have already noticed his explicit resemblance to the solid Snape from Metal Gear. In the trailer, he puts on a bandana and leads a detachment of soldiers, which immediately caused nostalgia among fans of the cult series. Back in 2020, Kodzima wrote that, in his opinion, Marinelli in the bandana would be “like two drops of water” look like a Snake – and now he embodied this idea in Death Stranding 2.
Kojima also announced the world concert tour The Strands of Harmony World Tour. It will cover 19 cities, offering the orchestral execution of the soundtracks of Ludwig Forsella and other composers, whose works sounded in the games of the series. The premiere will take place on November 8, 2025, on the sixth anniversary of Death Stranding, at the Sydney Opera Theater.
