The developers of the classic shooter Quake II, released in 1997, have released a re-release of the game for PC and consoles PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. Owners of the original game on Steam received a free update.
The Quake II re-release includes the original The Reckoning and Ground Zero expansions, as well as the all-new Call of the Machine expansion. The game supports widescreen resolutions up to 4K and includes improved models, enemy animations and blood effects, optimized AI behavior, higher resolution cinematics, dynamic color lighting, full screen anti-aliasing, depth of field effect, original music from Sonic Mayhem and more.
An updated version of Quake II is sold for $9.99, but is not officially available in Russia. The game is also included in the Game Pass subscription on PC and Xbox.
