The multiplayer first-person shooter XDefiant was supposed to be released before the end of summer 2023. However, it is now almost mid-September, but there is still no game. As the developers explained, the project could have been released on time if everything had gone according to plans, but, unfortunately, they did not pass PlayStation and Xbox certification. What was the reason is not specified.
XDefiant was sent for review to platform holders at the end of July, but they received an official refusal only in mid-August. Since then, the team has been working to eliminate the shortcomings and prepare for the retake, which should take place in two weeks. If everything goes smoothly, the game could be released at the end of September. If an additional patch needs to be released on launch day, the date may move to early or mid-October.
XDefiant also stated that they want to be as open as possible with their fans and listen to their feedback. As an example, they talked about two features that will appear due to player requests. We are talking about voting for map selection and a mode similar to Search and Destroy.
