In games, there are enemies that you prepare for: you hear the roar of a deathclaw over the hill, you count your bullets, you change into power armor. And there are opponents who do not make a sound, are not displayed on the compass and kill instantly, and in Fallout 4 The parked car has been such a champion for ten years now.

One of the players posted a recording of farming legendary weapons in the Boston Common area, immediately after leaving Diamond City.

The tactic was quite reasonable: stand on the back of the car so that the mongrels could not reach it, and calmly shoot them for the sake of legendary drops. The place is really working, from there the player took out an explosive double-barreled shotgun, but the car nearby turned out to be too light.

In the video, the body of the car next to the dog begins to slowly rise, the character does not understand anything, and then the rusty iron blows him to death with one touch.

Technically, everything is logical to a fault. The Creation Engine calculates physics through Havok, and any object with mass that is stuck in someone else’s collision receives a push to push it out. Hence the instant deaths from full health.

This is especially fun in survival mode, where you can only save by sleeping. Someone remembered how on a bridge he decided to jump over a Corvega and lost several hours of progress in one touch, and since then he has been more afraid of cars than swarms of ants and cave crickets.

Another told how he climbed onto a car near the lair of mole rats to prevent them from jumping up to his feet, and was killed by physics long before the first mole rat appeared.

Veterans of the Wasteland have only one practical conclusion: it is better to blow up undamaged vehicles in advance, before they decide to blow you up.
