Yes, two months before the release of the remake of Star Ocean: The Second Story, the developers published a free demo version. In it, players can go through the very beginning of the plot until the end of the Krosse Cave location.
The demo content is taken from the full version of Star Ocean: The Second Story R, albeit with some adjustments. Some features are also limited. Players will be able to transfer story and level progress to the release version, but only once when they first start the game, so be careful. Additionally, each save file has a time limit of three hours.
