Smilegate brought the mobile MMORPG Lost Ark Mobile to the exhibition and allowed representatives of various Korean media to play. Moreover, journalists were able to evaluate not only the version for smartphones, but also a full-fledged port for PC.

Those who tried the new product were incredibly surprised by the quality of the project. Portal Inven I even wondered if Lost Ark Mobile would be a threat to the PC version, since in some places the game feels much better. Below we have collected for you a short summary from the preview:

  • Lost Ark Mobile properly implements the PC version’s combat system, offering 8 basic skills, a tripod system, awakening skills, and more.
  • Playing Lost Ark Mobile on PC, you get the feeling that this is a game for computers.
  • There is no auto-combat, but there are several mechanics that make gameplay easier, such as auto-dodge, which drains a special gauge, and auto-target, which adjusts the direction of skills.
  • The journalist praised the cutscenes and visual effects reconstructed in Unreal Engine 5.
  • Even though Ruins of Moraya and Wall of Fame are dungeons that are over four years old, the cutscenes and action effects in Lost Ark Mobile look much better.
  • “Wall of Fame” is almost completely different from the PC version, from the character dialogue to the soundtrack.
  • The original Ruins of Moraya was a cinematic dungeon where you could solve puzzles and escape the maze, but in Lost Ark Mobile it feels like an abyss dungeon challenge. However, Thanatos’ redesigned appearance and overall visuals are impressive.
  • The combat feels much faster than Lost Ark on PC. Movement speed and casting speed are faster, and cooldowns are shorter.
  • Heavy skills like Spear of the Ancients also cast faster.
  • Since potions are used automatically, you don’t need to monitor your health.
  • The auto-dodge feature should not be used recklessly as it consumes gauge to instantly jump a long distance or dodge an attack.
  • The difficulty of the battle in the demo version of the Abyss Dungeon was not too high.
  • Lost Ark Mobile has a new Sword Master class that is missing in the PC version. He has a lot of skills that attack behind his back, so he has to take a position behind the enemy. However, he also has skills that allow him to move through a target, so this is not difficult to do. The class can also take the form of a fox to become stronger.
  • The demo presented was action-oriented, so it did not have a progression system.
  • The journalist concluded that despite some simplifications, playing Lost Ark Mobile on a mobile device is quite inconvenient. The player needs to use a variety of skills and try to avoid boss attacks, which is not easy to do on the touch screen. But he liked playing on PC, because the game really felt like it was made for this platform.

Unfortunately, the developers did not share the release date for Lost Ark Mobile. Therefore, we invite you to take a look at two gameplay videos: the first demonstrates the client for PC, and the second demonstrates the mobile version.
