Hello adventurers! In this article, I will tell you about the new Commander class from Torchlight Infinite. It is a complete game changer and allows you to “chill” during intense fights. But for this, you still need to properly pump the hero,
Commander is a new class in Torchlight Infinite. He can be described as a druid, only instead of animals, mechanical creatures of different sizes and calibers go into battle. In fact, you don’t even have to fight, although this is also possible – it all depends on your pumping, which gives you freedom to choose. Let’s see two main builds, as well as which one is better for a beginner.
How to play?
Even during the announcement I sunk into the soul of Commander. Sometimes you just want to play for a warlock or a druid, who often deal with enemies through minions. In this case, we will have robots and wards. As you might have guessed, these are two different fighting styles, although it never hurts to combine them. It’s just that in the case of minions, you will simply spam them, and in the second case, you will buff yourself and destroy the enemy with melee weapons.
At the start, Commander has only one branch, although there are only six of them – additional ones open at levels 20 and 45. The problem is that at the start you are only allowed to choose the “God of Machines” branch, which I just described above. We will discuss skills and talents below, but for now I want to say the following – just summon a new minion when the number next to his skill turns white, not red. This costs a little mana, so you can at least spam.
As you can see, I use two types of robots – large for tanking and small for damage. With them, you can run through locations without worrying about the damage received. This is the best gameplay option, and rare things fall from many mobs and all bosses. Therefore, do not even pay attention to gray and blue objects – very quickly they will be replaced by “purple”.
Skills and Talents
Let’s take a closer look at the skills; Initially, it is difficult to understand the local interface, so look – the yellow slots on the left indicate the number of skills used. As you can see, I do not have enough energy to open all 5. Blue slots are responsible for buffs, they open more slowly and at much later levels. Now let’s talk about the “wheel” in the center – each skill has several slots for point improvement and even changing its properties. For example, my minions get a bonus to attack and movement speed, plus a chance to deal double damage and even summon a phantom soldier.
As for talents, as I said, there are 6 branches in total, but only one is available at the start. With the help of the God of Machines talent branch, you can increase the damage and health of both robots and wards. Since I am walking purely along the path of the “summoner”, I do not consider the lower part of the branch. If you need maximum damage, then pump in talents like mine – they are responsible for the attack, its speed and the chance of a critical hit. But that’s not all – after reaching levels 10 and 20, additional buffs will open for you; we are given a choice of 3, but you can only take 1. I took the “Subordinate” skill, as it further increases the damage of my robots and the speed of the call, while the other two were aimed at wards and protection.
Inventory and equipment
As you can see, collecting rare items is not difficult. On the other hand, many of them quickly become obsolete or simply do not increase your stats. But everything is not so simple here, you have to constantly choose what is more important – the chance of critical damage or constant healing? It all depends on the chosen play style and talent tree; for example, mine requires things with the addition “Intelligence” and “Strength”, which allows you to wear both heavy armor and cloth ones. Unfortunately, the appearance of the character does not change from this, only the type of weapon in the hands. By the way, if you decide to go on the defensive, then no one bothers to take a shield in your second hand.
Equally important is your defense, which can be expressed both in the chance to absorb damage (I have 48.6%), and in resistance to the elements – fire, cold, lightning and erosion. It is a pity that I have the first two types most of all pumped in, while for the last one the value is 0%.
What we have?
The bottom line is that Commander is a great class for those who swing “in solo”. With it, it doesn’t matter how far or close the enemy is, because the robots themselves will run up and destroy it. But do not think that this dwarf is suitable for PvE alone – he will complement the team well, acting as a support and damage dealer. But what about PvP is still unknown – subscribe so as not to miss new guides. Until we meet again!
