NYOU is proud to announce that it has raised funds for the MMORPG Bellatores, powered by Unreal Engine 5. The amount of funds received for development was 30 billion KRW, or approximately 25 million US dollars.
“Currently, the implementation of the main functions and many features of Bellatores is completed, and the development and maintenance staff needs to be expanded to create the next game build. With the new finances, we will increase the salary and well-being of the company’s employees, and make full preparations for the release of the game, including the announcement of a new recruitment and engine improvements,” said CEO Kim Jong-hwan.
Bellatores is a medieval MMORPG for PC, formerly codenamed Project N1. The game is being developed by NYOU, a studio founded in 2016 by former Blizzard Korean and NCsoft Taiwanese Kim Jong-hwan. A variety of content has been announced, ranging from survival, adventure and crafting, to large-scale battles of the continent.
In 2020, the project also received an investment of 30 billion won, and later won a grant from Epic Games.
