Unchained will be migrated to a subscription distribution model

Kakao Games has decided to change the way the MMORPG ArcheAge: Unchained is distributed, which was distributed as a Buy-to-Play (one-time purchase) model at launch. The project will switch to Pay-to-Play, that is, to play you will need to pay for playing time. The prices are as follows:

  • 30 days – $ 9.99
  • 60 days – $ 27.99
  • 180 days – $ 51.99

All users who previously purchased ArcheAge: Unchained will receive a 60-day subscription as compensation. The Garden DLC will grant 30 extra days, and the Gunslinger DLC will grant 60 more days. In addition, 30 free days are given to absolutely everyone – both beginners and experienced players.

Along with the change in the distribution model, monetization will also change. The store will only allow you to purchase cosmetic items for real money, and from now on everything else will be sold only for in-game currency. The Patron system will be free, and the Battle Pass will be sold for loyalty tokens, which can only be obtained through daily login.

Changes should occur with the change of publisher. As a reminder, on December 2, the rights to the western versions of ArcheAge and ArcheAge: Unchained will finally be transferred to Gamigo studios. You can already transfer your accounts.
