Studio Vela Games, made up of Riot Games and EA natives, have announced the end of their Series A funding round, raising $ 17.3 million. This money will be used to expand the team, currently consisting of 20 people, and further develop their first game, codenamed Project-V.

“There is no other way to put it – this is a great event. We are thrilled with the new partnerships Vela has established and are ready to take our talented team and the unique game we create to the next level. With the completion of Serie A, led by our new partners from Novator and additional investments from Ubisoft and LVP, Vela Games has reached another important milestone in our mission to connect gamers around the world, ”the studio said.

At the same time, the developers summed up the results of the first closed pre-alpha test of Project-V, which took place under a strict NDA. It was noted that the players had a lot of fun with the game and saw its potential, as well as provided a lot of valuable feedback, which gave the team a clear idea of what aspects need to be improved.

Vela Games calls Project-V the first MOCO (Multiplayer Online Co-Op) game. The project combines team gameplay, MOBA abilities and MMO dungeons. The release date has not yet been determined, but on the official website you can apply for participation in future playtests.
