The popular multiplayer action game War Thunder will be distributed in Russia, the CIS countries and Georgia by Pixel Storm. This will allow residents of these regions to be guaranteed to pay for goods in the game using local means of payment, including bank cards and electronic wallets. The project will also feature local events, following the same principle as in the Japanese version.
It is worth noting that all War Thunder players will continue to play on the same servers, so there will be no “reservation”. Additionally, users don’t have to switch to a new publisher if they don’t want to, but if they do, they can keep all their accumulated progress. More details about the transfer process will be revealed later.
Pixel Storm is based in Dubai and was founded by Gleb Yalchik, former director of development at Creat Studio and former regional director of Gaijin. The team is reported to be very familiar with Gaijin’s products and operating online games in complex regional markets.
