The developers of the action role-playing game Wayfinder have released a large-scale update to Echoes, which disconnected the game from online. From now on, you can play without an Internet connection, but co-op for three people is also supported, working through a Peer-to-Peer connection.
The update also brought a huge number of changes to the game. Since the list is really extensive, we will highlight only the most basic:
- All content can now be unlocked through loot and rewards.
- Microtransactions are no longer available.
- Founder’s Packs provide exclusive rewards and Founder’s Coins that can be spent on exclusive cosmetic items.
- All original Travelers are unlocked by completing the tutorial, and additional ones can be found by playing or defeating bosses.
- New memories and voices of Travelers, allowing you to learn more about the characters.
- New Traveler ranking system for character progression and customization.
- New talent trees for each Traveler archetype.
- All cosmetic and power items are now loot with stats.
- Increased drop chances.
- Hundreds of secrets to find with rewards.
- Complete redesign of the Echo system.
- Weapons have been converted into loot with fixed levels and characteristics.
- There is no more weapon leveling, but there are different level ranges for drops.
- The benefits of awakening apply to all weapons and are easier to achieve.
- Weapon essences have been removed.
- 10 new types of weapons.
- All styles and personas are now armor sets with stat bonuses.
- Armor can be found, purchased, or received as a reward for tasks.
- A transmogrification system that allows you to change the appearance of your armor.
- Each Traveler has base armor sets, unlockable personas, and additional hairstyles.
- Updated main story for different playstyles.
- Live event content is integrated into the main story.
- New Frostmarch zone with tasks, activities and bosses.
- New repeatable patrol missions for tags (currency).
- All interior items are now loot with recipes.
- 20+ new interior items and an increased item limit (up to 550).
- Rebalanced endgame content and added a Mythic Hunt and Notice Board system.
- As you earn fame, you can buy the most powerful weapons and other rewards.
- Difficulty settings can be changed at any time.
- Added co-op with friend invitations to Steam and a group system.
- Improved performance, updated interface, updated achievements.
- Cross-platform multiplayer feature removed.
- Various bugs have been fixed and balance changes have been made.
