The authors of the looter shooter The First Descendant are gradually publishing details of the first season, called Invasion. “Invasion” will begin on August 29, 2024, and the second part of the content will be released on October 10. Previously, it was assumed that the season would be divided into three stages, but the players reacted negatively to this idea, and the developers decided to combine the second and third stages.
After the destruction of the Iron Heart, the Valgus fleet has retreated, and their leader Karel is contemplating a new plan. Judging by the teaser and trailer images for the first season, the role of the techno-priest Amon is becoming more prominent. And the Descendants will have to face a new “colossus” and legions that are striving to seize new territories.
Death Stalker
The Colossi still threaten the world of Ingris from beyond the Dimensional Wall, and now their ranks have been joined by the powerful Death Stalker. Her attacks are based on poison and fear, and her behavior patterns can unpleasantly surprise players.
Invasion Dungeon
The Valgus launched a large-scale ground offensive with the goal of capturing the outpost and regaining their position after defeat. Every week, two dungeons will have an additional single-player mode activated, in which the reward depends on the speed of completion. Three legions of Valgus confront players and hinder their progress using new types of puzzles and combat mechanics. This mode can be completed only twice per day.
For users who prefer to complete dungeons in a team, the developers have prepared a new difficulty level. It will become a testing ground for your builds, equipment and team. The reward for completing the game will be a new exclusive reward, including for purchasing valuable items from the new merchant ETA-0, which periodically appears in Albion.
Inversion Reinforcement
The game will feature a seasonal improvement to the characteristics of the Descendants called Inversion Reinforcement. It will be reset and changed before each season to reflect the features of the new seasonal content. There are five types of amplification in total:
- Hunt – improves the characteristics of the Descendant.
- Attribute – increases the Descendant’s resistance to certain attributes.
- Heal – improves the healing skills of Descendants.
- Survival is a protective buff that activates under certain conditions.
- Season – obtaining effects useful in dungeons with “invasion”.
Hailey
Hayley is a scout who was specifically sent to monitor the Valgus invading legions. She was once a simple soldier, but she worked her way up to become a legendary sniper in a special unit, and now she has become a newcomer among the Descendants. She is able to lower her body temperature to strike enemies around her. A good bonus will be an increase in the critical damage multiplier, which is great for sniper rifles with high one-time damage.
Hayley’s skills:
- Cryo Round – Hit multiple enemies near Hayley and apply the Cryo debuff, increasing gun damage.
- Storm Snare – Creates a vortex of cold around Hayley, which knocks back enemies and applies the Cryo debuff to them.
- “Cold Fury” – gradually reduces Hayley’s movement speed, but increases the chance of inflicting critical damage with skills and weapons, and also significantly increases the penetrating power of firearms.
- Zenith is Haley’s ultimate anti-material sniper rifle with high damage and penetrating power. The more ammo you have left when the skill ends, the faster you can reuse the rifle. When successfully attacking vulnerable points, mana points are restored.
Even though Hayley is a cold-blooded sniper, she loves making snowflakes and ice crystals to keep the kids happy.

Frayn’s descendant will receive a short story telling about her experiences in loneliness. In this exclusive story, you will get acquainted with the inner world of the heroine, who is tormented by feelings of guilt and self-loathing for the fact that she survived alone and was unable to save her love and comrades.

New unique weapon
The Excava is a powerful and versatile assault rifle. It charges with voltage when attacking enemies and charges for firing energy grenades. It can be obtained as a reward in the free branch of the battle pass.
Frost Watcher is a scout rifle that can only be acquired through gameplay. It reduces enemies’ cold resistance and increases damage from the cold skill each time they hit an enemy at a long distance. This is the perfect weapon for Viessa or Hayley.
Above are only the main changes that the developers are preparing for the start of the first season. In addition to them, it is expected that the skills of some descendants will be balanced, changes in the selection of a team for completing dungeons and farming locations, improvements to the user interface and many other changes, including those based on the wishes of the players.
