Battlefield Studios has released a major Winter Offensive update for the first-person shooter Battlefield 6. Along with it, the game launched a limited-time Ice Lock event, during which players can fight on a visually modified version of the Empire State map, taking the action to the frozen part of Brooklyn.
During the event on the Empire State map, a special frostbite mechanic has been activated in Conquest and Domination modes. It introduces sub-zero temperature zones that affect soldiers over time. To avoid frostbite, players must constantly sprint or use the Adrenaline Injector. An alternative way to stay warm is to use the designated heat zones on the map.
In addition, the update includes improvements to the clarity of the display of soldiers, increased reliability of weapons, improvements to the behavior of vehicles, as well as improvements to sounds and gameplay.
