The multiplayer shooter The Day Before turned out to be a real failure. At one point, the game was the most anticipated on the Steam service (in terms of the number of additions to the wishlist), but after its release in early access and a short “minute of fame” at the start, many players were left disappointed. At the moment, the new product has 80% negative reviews.
If you were hoping that the patches would fix everything and bring The Day Before to at least a more or less playable state, then we have to disappoint you. Fntastic representatives announced the complete closure of the studio and the cancellation of game development. The official reason is “financial collapse”, due to which the developers had no funds left to support the project. All income received will be used to pay off debts to partners.
“We poured all our energy, resources and man-hours into developing The Day Before, which was our first big game. We really wanted to release new patches to unlock the game’s full potential, but unfortunately we don’t have the funds to continue the work. It’s important to note that during the development of The Day Before we did not take money from the public; there were no pre-orders or crowdfunding campaigns. We have worked tirelessly for five years, pouring our blood, sweat and tears into the game,” the statement said.
As for the studio’s games, such as The Day Before and Propnight, their future fate remains unknown at the moment, but the servers will continue to work.
