Hackers have published more than 1.3 million files obtained as a result of hacking Insomniac Games

A week ago, developers from Insomniac Games became the victim of a hacker attack, during which the attackers obtained a huge number of different files. The hackers wanted to get $2 million for not publishing the data, but there were no people willing to pay. And now more than 1.3 million files have been posted online.

At the moment, enthusiasts are studying the files, but a lot of classified information has already been found, including tax information, internal correspondence between developers and even passport data.

It also became known about the development of 4 unannounced games and the approximate release dates for these games:

  • Venom in fiscal year 2025
  • Spider-Man 3 in fiscal year 2028
  • New part Ratchet and Clank in fiscal year 2029
  • X-Men in fiscal year 2030

It also became known that Sony (and Insomniac Games is Sony’s internal studio) entered into an agreement with Marvel in 2021 for exclusive rights to develop and publish games based on the X-Men franchise until 2035. From digital sales, Marvel will receive from 9 to 18%, from physical copies and DLC – from 19% to 26%.
