Smilegate Entertainment is developing a battle royale with PvP and PvE content

South Korean portal MTN reports that Smilegate Entertainment is developing a “battle royale” under the code name Project G. For this purpose, two development teams were united, and an early version of the game was already demonstrated to the company’s management.

The project has been developed on the Unreal Engine 5 since approximately 2022 and will be available on personal computers. A distinctive feature will be the introduction of PvE content along with PvP confrontation. Players will have to collect resources from which they will create firearms and ammunition necessary to survive in a dangerous environment.

Interestingly, this information was published the day before the announcement of the closure of Smilegate Barcelona, a studio in Spain that had been working on an open-world console project for about 4 years. At the moment, the fate of this project remains in doubt.

The Smilegate company is known primarily for the online shooter CrossFire, which has gained great popularity in China, Brazil, and Vietnam and has an audience of 8 million players.
