Korean company Smilegate, known for such games as Lost Ark and CrossFire, announced a strategic investment in Control9. This is a new studio that includes people who worked on Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, Lineage M, Seven Knights 2 and other games.

Control9’s first project will be a turn-based RPG under the working title Project TT. The developers are looking to change the established grammar of turn-based collectible RPGs with a new concept for the combat system. However, details have not yet been announced. The developers expect the game to become a genre leader thanks to its unique art design.

With this investment, Smilegate hopes to acquire high-quality Japanese anime IPs and work closely with developers to expand its portfolio of successful games in the global market. The plan is to strengthen our capabilities as a publisher while growing with great developers.
