Pocketpair Studio, best known for the recently acclaimed sandbox Palworld, is working on a new hybrid-casual game for mobile devices. Moreover, she is not doing this alone, but together with the KLab studio, which previously released such mobile projects as BLEACH Brave Souls and Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team.
A hybrid casual game is a gaming model that combines the simplicity of casual games with the mechanics of online games that can be played over a long period of time to generate income from both in-game purchases and advertising. The category has continued to grow globally since 2020, with the market estimated to be worth $2.1 billion in 2023, according to market research firm Sensor Tower.
Joint development between the two companies began back in 2020, and after numerous prototype tests and internal tests, the project is finally ready for commercialization.
