NCSOFT continues to talk about the features of the upcoming MMORPG Throne and Liberty. The second video guide talks about weapon combinations and the influence of weather on the game world. Previously, the developers talked about tasks, codes and initial events in the game.
Players can freely combine two weapons and create unique builds: you can choose up to 12 active skills and up to 8 passive ones. Weapons can be switched at the player’s discretion, and they are also automatically activated as soon as the skill associated with it is used.
All types of weapons have a defensive skill, but you can only choose one.
The developers have previously repeatedly talked about the influence of weather and time of day on the game world. You can check the current state of the world by hovering over the icon in the upper right corner. Different world states have different effects on the game. For example, when it rains, plant monsters take less damage. In addition, some monsters sleep at night and lead an aggressive lifestyle during the day. The weather also affects the player’s weapons: the wind allows archers to deal additional damage, the poison of daggers works more effectively at night, and when it rains, the Lightning magic skill begins to hit nearby targets.
Players will have access to several skills to control the weather, but only a few people on the server will be able to use them. In addition to changing the status of the world, these skills will give you a small temporary advantage in battle:
- The “Solar Eclipse” skill will not only create night, but will also hide members of your party and clan within a radius of 5 meters for 30 seconds.
- “Squall wind” creates air currents that move in a given direction for 10 minutes. It also increases the movement speed of nearby party members and guild members by 25% for 24 seconds.
- Torrential Rain will give your allies a 100% mana regeneration bonus for 24 seconds and reduce the cooldown time for skills by 20%.
Weather skills have very limited uses, so each use must be considered carefully.
Throne and Liberty will be released in South Korea on December 7, and the global version from Amazon Games is expected in the first half of 2024.
