Wayfinder will become a paid game without microtransactions

After an unsuccessful launch and termination of the contract with the publisher, the Wayfinder developers decided to completely reconsider the concept of the project. It’s now a paid single-player game with no microtransactions, with optional 3-player co-op. The initially planned transition to Free-to-Play after the end of early access is not worth waiting for.

After the release of the global Echoes Update, the game will no longer require a constant Internet connection. Saves will become local, not server-based, so you won’t be able to transfer progress to the new version. The cooperative will be carried out through a Peer-to-peer connection. In addition, numerous changes to the gameplay are expected.

The Echoes update will be released on May 31, 2024 on PC for those who have previously purchased one of the Founder’s Packs. Beginners will be able to purchase Wayfinder a little later, on June 11, 2024. The update will be installed on PlayStaion 5 this summer. The early access price will be $24.99, but it will increase after release. In addition, the developers will stop supporting the PlayStation 4 version and will also release the game on Xbox Series X|S.
