The long-awaited turn-based tactical game with RPG elements, where you need to always be on the alert, in the midst of battles and battles. The main events of XCOM 2 take place 20 years after the 1st part.

Gameplay

The gameplay is very similar to what we could previously see when playing the first part. From the very beginning of the passage of the main plot, you get control over a mobile gadget called “Avenger”. This is a human-modified technology that people got from an alien ship that attacked the Earth. Almost immediately, a whole detachment of hired soldiers joins the protagonist of the game, each of which has its own skills and a talent development tree. Chief among the innovations are randomly generated levels. Your mobile base constantly lacks resources, and then your main task is to extract them and process them into artifacts. Compared to the original, it features new types of enemies, including a mixture of aliens and humans, as well as deadly “vipers” that spray poison massively. The open engine makes the game free for modders, and therefore, immediately after its release, a large number of fan-made additions appeared. They include not only individual types of units and enemies, but also full-fledged campaigns, the passage of which you can start immediately.

Story line

The aliens defeated the united army of the Earth, and now you find yourself in the territory occupied by them. People are no longer masters in their own home, and play the role of extras and slaves. Everyone is being watched and everything is controlled by the mind of the aliens, people live mainly in big cities, turned into a real ghetto. Of course, there are underground guerrilla groups and resistance armies that do not want to put up with the current state of affairs. It is the players who will lead one of these units. A legendary faction called XCOM is resurgent, and it’s up to you to lead it. This means that the hope of mankind has not yet completely died out. Assemble your own army of volunteers respawning in the outlying area and give an unequal battle to the alien race.
