The developers of the looter shooter The First Descendant published a long letter in which they talked about the progress of work on the game. Firstly, they confirmed that the release of the project is planned for the summer of 2024 and that specific dates are now being discussed, taking into account all the necessary work.
After several stages of testing, a lot of player opinions have accumulated about the project, about its strengths and weaknesses. The authors analyzed all the reviews and set goals that needed to be achieved before the launch of the game. At the moment there are both large and small places to be corrected:
- The presentation of the story will once again be reworked, and it will be a big rework. The game will feature more non-player characters and interactions with them. Each playable character will get their own little story to “give more character and depth.”
- New cinematic videos are being prepared.
- Locations will be redesigned. Places where story skirmishes take place will become smaller in size, but different content will appear between them. This can be either peaceful activities or random opponents or monsters.
- Thanks to the reworking of the density of content in locations, players will have more overlap with each other, which will allow them to cooperate and help each other more often.
- A dungeon matchmaking system will appear.
- The module system will be improved to make it easier for players to customize their character for a specific playstyle.
- Game characters will be improved both graphically and in their characteristics.
- A lot of new dungeons and bosses are being prepared.
- Optimization and controls for the console version are being finalized, and the developers are confident that all the wishes of the players will be taken into account at the release.
