Crossing the Line is a cinematic action movie with a touch of mysticism. The plot of the game tells the story of the head of the investigative department of the police, who loses his wife in the course of a terrorist attack. A high-profile case with a hundred victims for some unknown reason is blamed on the main character, accusing him of violating his direct duties. Without much ado, the protagonist is fired, pointing out the door.

A few years after the main events in a dream, his deceased wife begins to come to the hero, begging her to help. Perfectly aware that he will be considered a madman, he decides not to divulge the images he saw in a dream to anyone and to help out his beloved. The latter, convinced of her husband’s intentions to help her, grants him the ability to wander between the world of the living and the dead. This ability becomes key, because it should help in the adventure that awaits players further.

The main feature of the game, the transition between worlds, is implemented through scripted scenes. That is, the protagonist cannot freely visit the kingdom of Hades, but must wait until he is allowed to do so. However, do not overuse this unique skill. Each transition directly affects the character’s psyche, destroying his once sane view of the world. In some cases, it will be possible to get off with a panic attack, but for those who like to break the rules, a special fate is in store – visiting the world of the dead as its permanent inhabitant.

All the twists and turns associated with wanderings were implemented on the CryEngine 3 engine, which made it possible to embody colorful graphics and realistic physical processing. According to the author, his desire to bring a dark and oppressive atmosphere to the project has been revised so that the final product looks more like a perky action game, rather than one of the many horror games.
