Co-op shooter HELLDIVERS 2 was released two months ago and continues to show strong sales and player engagement. The daily peak online confidently shows more than 200,000 players, although it is slowly declining. The developers continue to work on server stability, but cases of network errors still occur. In part, it is the remaining network issues that are delaying the introduction of new content to the game, as the team is focused on solving the problems.
Meanwhile, an important event occurred on the global map – the helldivers managed to liberate all the planets occupied by automatons on the Western Front. And the players are wondering what will happen next. After all, now the forces of helldivers are not scattered on two fronts, but are concentrated to fight the Terminids on the “Eastern Front”. However, on reddit players assume that not everything is so simple.
In the original HELLDIVERS game, the highly developed faction “Illuminati” was present, and references to it were found in the game client a month ago. And at the moment the subreddit HellDiversLeaks practically filled with various finds of this faction. In addition, some players reportedthat they saw “blue laser beams” in matches that are associated with this particular faction.
But don’t forget about the Cyborgs faction from the planet Cyberstan. Cyborgs are people who once left the domain of “Super-Earth” and use cybernetic implants to improve their bodies. It is believed that automata are their “children” that were created during experiments. In addition, two years ago in the official X(Twitter) the first part of the game was a series of posts in binary codewhich players deciphered:
“We, the collective of Cyberstan, unanimously declare our independence from Super-Earth. We have the right to defend our home from brainwashed helldivers. Our children, the automatons, will not suffer like we did under the yoke of the Super-Earth!”
It is the cyborgs that are remembered now, after the victory over the automatons, and they are expected to appear soon. Moreover, they were previously noticed suspicious ships in the skies above planets captured by automatons.
Be that as it may, the automatons will return. At a minimum, so that players can receive in-game achievements associated with them. They can return either as an independent faction or together with their “creators.”
As for new weapons, stratagems (character skills) and other things, the developers are gradually adding something new: weather disasters have appeared on the planets, the arsenal of weapons and equipment is being balanced and replenished, and the first combat mech has been added. The next expansion of the arsenal is scheduled for April 11, 2024, when the “premium merit” (the local equivalent of a battle pass) called “Democratic Disruption” will be released.
