The new multiplayer first-person shooter XDefiant, developed by Ubisoft, is distributed under the Free-to-Play model. This means that the game can be downloaded for free, but it contains optional microtransactions that provide certain bonuses. We will tell you about them in this article.
Founder’s Kits
Along with the release, three founder’s sets for XDefiant went on sale. These include cosmetic items for characters and weapons, faction unlocks, in-game currency, and so on. Let’s look at each of them.

It’s worth noting that if you have 100 Ubisoft coins, which are given for achievements in the company’s games, then you can get a 20% discount on any set.
X-coins
X-Coins are the premium currency in XDefiant, allowing you to purchase skins and the Battle Pass, as well as instantly unlock your faction. The prices are as follows:
- 500 X-coins – $4.99 / 125 TL
- 1000 X-coins – $9.99 / 249 TL
- 2100 X-coins – $19.99 / 499 TL
- 5750 X-coins – $49.99 / 1249 TL
- 12000 X-coins – $99.99 / 2499 TL
Ubisoft+ Premium subscribers also receive a 10% discount on X-Coin purchases.
Cosmetic items
Cosmetic items are sold in the in-game store for X-Coins and change daily. The prices are as follows:
- Rare character or weapon skin – 800 X-coins
- Epic Character or Weapon Skin – 1000 X-Coins
- Rare Player Animation – 600 X-Coins

Packs for real money
These packs are free for PlayStation Plus subscribers on PlayStation 5. PC and Xbox Series X|S users can purchase them for $7.99. In the future they will be replaced at a certain frequency.
These packs cannot be purchased directly through the game – they are available in the Ubisoft Connect, Microsoft Store and PlayStation Store for real money.
At the time of writing, the Crimson Pack is available for sale, which includes two skins: the “Crimson Iselda” skin for the Iselda character and the “Red Marble” skin for the M4A1 weapon.
X-Coin Packs
These packs are sold for X-Coins and are available for a limited time in the game itself. They include several items at a great price.
At the time of writing, the “Phantoms Prototype” set is on sale for 2900 X-coins. It includes items such as the Legendary ACR 6.8 Weapon Skin, Legendary Gorgon Character Skin, Epic P90 Weapon Skin, and Rare Player Card (MVP and Kill Screens).
Instant faction unlock
In order to gain access to one of the factions, you need to pass a special test – get 700 thousand units of experience. If you want to open it right now and not wait, you can skip the quest for 1000 X-coins.
At the time of writing, the closed faction is DedSec. Every season the developers plan to add new ones.
Battle Pass
Finally, like many game services, XDefiant allows you to purchase a Battle Pass, which allows you to unlock levels by leveling up. There is, of course, a free version, but traditionally it has much fewer rewards.
It is noteworthy that the battle pass in XDefiant costs only 700 premium currency, and not 1000 or more, as is often the case. In addition, it is self-sustaining, so if you level it up to the maximum level, you will get back all the X-coins you spent and can purchase the next one.

This concludes our review of the XDefiant in-game store. As the developers promised, there are no hard Pay-to-Win elements in the game – at least not yet. For real money, you can only purchase cosmetics and a battle pass, as well as instantly unlock one of the factions. Weapons are unlocked and upgraded as you play, but there are no exclusive “guns” with enhanced characteristics for sale.
