Warner Bros. Discovery is unhappy with sales of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, said the company’s chief financial officer Gunnar Wiedenfels. He did not disclose exact numbers, but noted that an unsuccessful release of the game could negatively affect the results of the company’s gaming division in 2024.
By comparison, in 2023, Warner Bros. Discovery released Hogwarts Legacy, which became the best-selling game of the year, even beating The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was released on February 2, 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game received a lot of negative reviews from both players and the press.
