Despite the fact that the MMORPG Guild Wars 2 is already 12 years old, the developers from ArenaNet have no plans to wind down support for the game. In a pre-New Year message to the community, Josh Davis, the game’s director, thanked the players for their support and talked about plans for the first half of 2024.
Secrets of the Obscure, released in August 2023, achieved financial success, giving the company confidence during such a difficult time. The team not only implemented new content, but also changed the approach to game development and support. Thanks to the new approach to development, the release schedule for updates has become more predictable, and the work-life balance of developers has improved.
Two major updates are planned for the first half of 2024. February will feature new story chapters, a Temple of Febe Strike Mission challenge mode, nine new weapon skills, new legendary armor, an update to Wizard’s Vault rewards, and more. The World vs. beta event will take place from January 12 to February 2. World.
More details about these updates will be shared early next year on the forum and blogs.
In addition, we are currently developing a new addition and discussing the content that will follow it. But it’s too early to talk about this. However, Josh is confident that there will be a lot of exciting adventures, stories and updates ahead for the Ugra.
As a small treat, players were treated to “The Floating Tower”, composed by ArenaNet’s Paul Quinn and performed during the Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure release party.
