New Russian publisher Weloveplayers opposes “donation dumps”

The Russian company Weloveplayers announced that it is going to finance domestic indie developers. The new team, whose employees worked on the marketing of such games as “Kuzhlevka”, “Vasilisa and Baba Yaga”, Dying Light 2 Stay Human, Remnant From The Ashes, Spear Song and others, will publish various projects on the world market, including Russia, CIS, Western countries and China. In addition, they will share their experience with developers and help with the production of their projects.

Separately, the company noted that it opposes games with an aggressive monetization system that suck money out of players:

“For 10 years we promoted video games as an agency. But it’s time to move on. Now, in addition to marketing services, the Weloveplayers team is starting to publish domestic indie games in Western countries, China, Russia and the CIS. We will support the developers financially, handle marketing and help with video game production. We are against donation dumps! It is important for us that Russian game development is distinguished by unique single-player projects without donations and mechanics that suck money out of players. We at Weloveplayers believe that small indie games can generate sufficient income for the growth of domestic game studios, publishers and our industry as a whole,” the press release says.

Weloveplayers invites indie developers who need help with funding to submit an application through a special Google form.
