Sony has decided to abandon the mandatory binding of HELLDIVERS 2 to the PlayStation Network

Sony reported on its account X(Twitter), which decided to abandon the mandatory binding of HELLDIVERS 2 to the PlayStation Network. The publisher heard the community’s outrage and thanked people for their opinion on this matter, and also admitted that he was just learning what was best for PC players.

Helldivers fans, we’ve heard your feedback regarding the account linking update in Helldivers 2. The May 6 update, which would have required Steam and PlayStation Network accounts to be linked for new players and for existing players starting May 30, will not continue.
We’re still learning what works best for PC players, and your feedback has been invaluable. Thanks again for your continued support of Helldivers 2, and we’ll keep you updated on future plans.

Some users have already begun to celebrate the victory on social networks and delete negative reviews on Steam. Within an hour of posting the tweet, the number of positive reviews rose from 42% to 44%. However, there are also more skeptical players. Some remind you that the game is still blocked for purchase on Steam in 177 countries, while others are sure that Sony just took a small step back and will soon return with a new plan.
