Publisher Pmang announced that it has decided to close the Japanese version of the MMORPG Lost Ark. This event will occur on March 20, 2024 at 19:00 local time (13:00 Moscow time). The company’s official statement says that this result was reached after negotiations with the developers from Smilegate RPG.
“We regret to inform you that we will be ceasing service to LOST ARK on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.
The service has been operational since September 23, 2020, but after close discussions with the developer of Smilegate RPG, we have decided that it will be difficult to continue to provide a service that will satisfy our customers in the future.
We’d like to thank everyone who has played, supported, and excited about LOST ARK so far. Thank you for your continued and generous support.”
The Japanese version will not receive major updates or new content, but the publisher promises to hold several events before closing the game. The remaining JEWEL (premium currency) can be used in other Pmang games, but in-game currencies (crystals, miles) will be lost forever.
At the moment there is no information about who will become the new publisher in Japan and whether such a company will be found.
