DOTA 2 players can now see the stats of two teams and reject the match without consequences

Valve released update 7.35d for MOBA DOTA 2, which added one interesting feature. Now, when finding a match, players can see the statistics of the two teams, including the spread in skill and integrity, and reject the match if they are not happy with something. The search will begin again, but there will be no consequences from this.

The feature was added as part of the Dota Lab and is currently only available to Dota Plus subscribers. The developers want to test the new feature among a limited number of players and gather feedback before making it publicly available.

“We’ve done extensive modeling, but there is still a real risk that we may misunderstand how players will use this feature and how it will impact the matchmaking experience. We don’t want the possibility of mistakes to stop us from bringing value to millions of players, so we released this feature as an experiment. Access to Dota Plus subscribers only reduces not only the number of potential testers, but also the risk to the entire game while we monitor the new feature. As with other Labs features, time and feedback will tell if it expands, changes, or leaves the game,” the developers said.

In update 7.35d, the developers also changed the ban system. Players will now pre-select four heroes that they do not want to see in the game, and once the match starts, at least one of them will be banned. In Captains Mode and Captains Draft, the ban stage follows the old principle.
