Yesterday, Ni Fei, president of ZTE’s smartphone division, confirmed that his company will launch the world’s first commercial smartphone with a sub-screen camera.

Now the ZTE A20 5G has appeared in the database of the Chinese regulator TENAA, which has published the first live photos of the device, as well as its specifications.

The smartphone is built on the basis of the Snapdragon 765G single-chip system, which is complemented by 6, 8, or 12 GB of RAM and 64, 128, or 256 GB of flash memory. Hidden under the surface of the screen, the front camera is equipped with a 32-megapixel image sensor. ZTE conducted a blind test in which users were unable to distinguish between selfies taken with the ZTE A20 5G and those taken from other modern smartphones.

The screen of the device has a diagonal of 6.92 inches with a resolution of 2460 x 1080, it is made using OLED technology. The main camera is equipped with image sensors with a resolution of 64, 8, 2 and 2 megapixels.

The battery capacity of the ZTE A20 5G is 4120 mA • h, the smartphone runs on the Android 10 operating system. The device measures 172.1 x 77.9 x 7.9 mm and weighs 198 g.
