Devices cost tens of thousands of dollars
A mobile workstation is usually a fairly powerful and not very light laptop with excellent (for a laptop) performance. But if you do not limit yourself to the form factor, then you can make a mobile workstation in the format of a desktop computer – you just need to put it on wheels and fit a handle. This is the recipe for Mediaworkstation a-X1P and a-X2P.
If a workstation in a laptop format is still a compromise of dimensions and weight on the one hand and performance on the other, then in the case of Mediaworkstation a-X1P and a-X2P there are no compromises: 586.7 x 383.5 x 229.3 mm and 22.5 kg are the dimensions of a “laptop”. By the way, these computers are considered portable not only due to the presence of wheels, but also because of the built-in display, as in a laptop or monoblock. The basic version has one 24-inch Full HD screen, the top-end version has six 24-inch 4K panels! Accordingly, in order to organize the output of an image on such a variety of displays, a good video card is needed. And preferably more than one. Therefore, workstations can be equipped with various Nvidia GPUs – from regular GeForce RTX, to Quadro or Tesla. Up to three pieces!
Of course, other characteristics are also on the level. For example, a-X2P assumes two-socket configurations, in which everything is just beginning with the 8-core AMD Erus 7252. For a decent surcharge, it is possible to install two 64-core Erus 7742, which gives a total of 128 cores. The maximum amount of RAM for a pre-configured system is 2 TB, but in general, the system can accommodate up to 4 TB of RAM.
As for the prices, even Mas Pro is resting here. For example, a basic a-2XP with two 64-core AMD Epus 7742, 64 GB of RAM, a Samsung 970 Evo Plus SSD with a capacity of 250 GB, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super video card and one 24-inch Full HD display costs about $ 10,000.
