Even in the original game, there were prerequisites for the emergence of a new add-on. For example, a red parrot sitting on the wreckage of a ship. Didn’t he evoke associations with sailing in the inaccessible sea, about sailors, pirates and travelers? He probably did. And finally, with the release of Don’t Stave Shipwrecked, the sea (or what is this water around the islands?) became available. This add-on, which we recommend downloading via torrent, adds a lot of new gameplay characteristics and features, four new characters and almost completely changes the game. So, let’s start a detailed (but not so much) analysis of the add-on.

Beach season open

Many players are probably tired of the immensely monotonous biomes: glade, savannah, forests with fir trees … Yes, these biomes have sunk into oblivion, but the add-on introduces us to the beach biome, the tropics, igneous lands, mangrove swamps, the ocean, coral reef – there is where roam! You can imagine yourself as Robinson Crusoe, but instead of cannibals, there are many other enemies in the biome. These include snakes, but, in truth, they are not so scary, especially alone. On the beach biome you can find a bunch of useful, and often edible things. But that’s not the point. Since this add-on is called – more precisely, its name can be translated like this – “Shipwreck”, then travel by ship will be important in the add-on. New crafting items are added. At first, only a raft will be available to you (if you are not playing as Woodlegs, but more on the characters and their starting items later), on which you can reach new locations, hunt fish and other creatures that inhabit the water.

Changes in the weather

The seasons have changed significantly. If before the worst thing that could be expected (in the original game) was frost in winter, now in winter you will be tormented by hurricanes that can destroy some buildings, uproot trees and just cause a lot of bedlam in your new, newly built camp. In the summer, the dry season will come, for which you also need to be prepared. In the autumn, the long-awaited grace will come, but in the spring, expect frequent monsoons.

In the open sea

Water is now an integral part of the gameplay. She is fraught with danger and wealth (in the form of food, of course). As soon as you launch your raft into the water, your character’s sanity will begin to drop due to fear, but the fall can either be slowed down or completely stopped. Pay close attention to the direction of the waves: a single mistake can cost you not only the raft, but perhaps your whole life; but if you survive, then in any case, all your things will get wet, which will not be very pleasant. Boats and rafts have their own strength, capacity and physical characteristics. And the dark depths of the waters hide monsters that you may not be ready to face…

New characters

The first character to unlock is Valani, or the laid-back one. Her starting item is a surfboard, meaning she doesn’t need to build a raft to travel across the waters. In addition, it dries out faster than other characters. The second unlockable character is Varley, the chef. He carries with him a unique cauldron in which he can prepare unique recipes. The downside to playing as Varley is that, being a very gourmet eater, he gets less satiety if he eats the same thing multiple times in a row. Then Woodlegs becomes available – this is a pirate who has his own ship as a starting item. And finally, Wilbur, the monkey king. This is a monkey, and you can find special advantages of playing for him.
