Don’t Escape: 4 Days in a Wasteland is the first major project from the indie developer under the pseudonym Scriptwelder, made in the psychological horror genre and using classic quest mechanics.
The story takes place in a place called the Wasteland, a patch of sand-filled post-apocalyptic world where few survivors remain. The main character, a peaceful and somewhat naive guy named David, tries to follow his moral guidelines, to be noble and good-natured even in the circumstances. Along the way, David will meet other victims of the disaster, with whom he will have to build relationships and survive together.

Among other things, David is plagued by nightmares. Every night he sees how he dies in various terrible ways. To avoid this fate in reality, the hero, under the guidance of the player, will have to prepare by collecting the necessary supplies, ammunition and studying notes and documents. The task is complicated by a timer that measures the time of daylight hours, and the limited inventory of the character. The game does not go too far with the complexity, but also does not let you relax, and its visual performance pleasantly refers to the retro games of the nineties.
