Shadow Tactics: Blades of Shogun is a realistic tactical stealth game set in Japan during the Edo period. In 1615, a new shogun comes to power, thanks to which peace reigns in the empire. However, the world is fragile in politics, and to fight espionage, conspirators and rebels, the ruler hires five katana masters, who from now on become the Blades of the Shogun.

Now the power of the ruler and peace throughout Japan depend on their art of sabotage, surveillance and getting rid of unreliable citizens.
The five warriors have different personalities, values, and fighting styles. At first it seems that the only impossible task for them is to work together. However, over time, they learn to trust each other, cooperate and come to the rescue of their comrades, despite their own motives and internal demons, the fight against which each of them will have to carry through the events of the entire storyline.

The game has three difficulty levels that change the balance of power and add abilities to both playable characters and opponents. There are dozens of solutions for each mission, from the straight-forward slaughter that a Mugen samurai would have preferred, to a network of clever Yuuki-style traps, or the subtle seduction that the master of disguise, Aiko, can do. You can also use Hayato’s stealth or Takuma’s sniping skills to complete missions in the most stealthy way possible.
