Rebel Wolves, a studio made up of CD Projekt RED alumni, has been joined by another veteran of the gaming industry. Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, who previously worked on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Cyberpunk 2077 and Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, has officially taken over as creative director. The team is currently working on a role-playing adventure in a dark fantasy setting called Dawnwalkerabout which there are no details yet.
“Throughout my years of working on games, story-based role-playing adventures have always been of the greatest interest to me,” said Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, creative director of Rebel Wolves. “For me, there is nothing better than being able to immerse yourself in a game and discover hand-crafted stories and worlds. There are so many fantastic RPGs out there today, but I sense not only a shortage, but also a hunger among players for more compelling stories. That’s why I’m thrilled to join many of my old friends and meet many new ones at Rebel Wolves as Creative Director. We strive to create an RPG that we ourselves would want to play.”
“We want to create a world that you want to explore and immerse yourself in, and tell a story that makes you care about the characters,” continued Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz. “We strive to create an experience that allows you to choose and experiment on repeat playthroughs. Helping create this experience with so many talented people is my mission at Rebel Wolves, and I can’t wait for everyone to see what the team has been working on for quite some time.”
The studio also announced that Dawnwalker has officially entered the alpha stage of development. The team plans to reveal more about the game later this year, so we’ll just have to be patient.
