Dr. Kleiner wants to send Gordon to Black Mesa East to help the resistance, but because of Lamarr’s tamed headcrab, the teleporter breaks, and, having “jumped” through space, Gordon finds himself right outside the window of Klyaneir’s underground laboratory. He has to walk, and it is very dangerous… And so begins the adventure of our protagonist.

Graffiti City-17

The world of this game is atmospheric and in many ways resembles the state described in George Orwell’s novel “1984”. The developers put us in a post-apocalyptic futuristic dystopia, in which even the dominant person is only a pawn in someone’s stronger hands. Eastern European architecture and nature will surely create additional sensations for those who live in this region. As you “walk” around the city, you can come across a wide variety of ideological graffiti, in which a Civil Defense soldier holds a small child in his hands or an image of the “evolution” of a person from a monkey to a modified one.

Citizens live in apartment blocks, wear uniform uniforms and are under constant surveillance. Soldiers patrol the streets. And when you move a little away from the most populated areas, then alien creatures and creatures become quite frequent passers-by. Vortigaunts are now friendly. Headcrabs are still cute (IMHO) and dangerous. If you think you are not dangerous, then wait for the chapter about Rheinvelholm, but if you pass it without difficulty, then the author of the article is a noob. If that’s not enough to convince you to download Half-Life 2 via torrent, then perhaps the ability to drive around in an all-terrain vehicle and fire a machine gun at enemies at the same time can convince you. As well as good (for 2004) graphics and an original soundtrack.
